If you have googled Could not find resource assembly etc. you'll see that this problem often occurs (desktop version of .NET and .NET Compact Framework)

English:
Could not find resource assembly
An error message cannot be displayed because an optional resource assembly containing it cannot be found

German:
Es kann keine Fehlermeldung angezeigt werden, da die optionale Ressource der Assembly, die die Fehlermeldung enthält, nicht gefunden wurde.

When you googled the error message you'll see that the error message often occurs in CF applications. Even in Microsoft CF apps!

Even Voyager 3.1 RC2 suffers from such an exception.

If there is an invalid link (.lnk file) and icons are displayed the error message is shown.

In Windows CE a .lnk file is a text file with one line using the following format: n#"path"

e.g. 200#"Windowstarget.xyz" --> 21#"Windowstarget.xyz"
